HyunA Makes Drastic Change To Her Body After Her Controversial Marriage

Singer HyunA recently admitted that she was in the process of changing up her image completely after her marriage.

HyunA has always been a symbol of boldness and empowerment as a K-Pop figure, and that was reflected in her edgy appearance adorned with multiple piercings and tattoos. However, as her life witnesses major changes post-marriage, HyunA is admittedly bidding goodbye to these body modifications.

On May 14, KST, the singer appeared as a guest on the popular YouTube variety show, Yongtaro, and talked candidly about her married life.

While she and the host Lee Yong Jin were on the topic of self-identity, HyunA revealed that she has started to feel “stable” after marriage. Lee then pointed out her changed visuals without her signature piercings, stating that he wouldn’t recognize HyunA without them. She replied, saying that she was still facing internal conflict over making such a huge leap in altering her identity to this extent.

HyunA also revealed that it has been a year since she started getting her tattoos removed, leaving Lee in shock. When asked why she decided on such a drastic step, the idol stated that it was her mother’s wish.

My mom said, ‘How about trying to live with a clean body just once? You’ve tried everything you wanted to do.’ (So) I went to star removing them.

The idol then gave an honest recount of the tattoo removal process, describing it as painful and time-consuming.

I had a lot of tattoos all over my body. It takes a lot of time to remove them…It’s so painful!

In fact, the sessions were so intense that she was forced to take a break after doing four of them. She added that the tattoo removal process is done once every two months.

But it’s not just her appearance that has slowly changed after marriage. HyunA cheerfully talked about how her insomnia has vanished since tying the knot.

I used to suffer from insomnia. Now I sleep well. Just being in the same space gives me a great sense of stability.
