According to the Seoul Central Police Station on August 19, KST, a former idol-turned-actor has been booked on charges of stalking a woman.
The individual in question is actor Choi Jung Won, a former member of the K-Pop duo UN.

The police have confirmed that they charged Choi with the violation of the law on punishment for stalking crimes and also sought emergency measures from the court, which were approved.
Choi reportedly visited the home of a woman he had been acquainted with while armed with a weapon. The police stated that they were in the process of figuring out the circumstances of the incident. Meanwhile, they sought emergency measures from the court, which order Choi to stay 100 meters away from the victim’s residence and prohibit any access to her via telecommunications. Failure to comply may result in fines up to [kr]w 10 million [/krw].
The actor gave his side of the story regarding this investigation via a media outlet, saying that he found parts of the reports “unjust.” While he admitted that he was under investigation, he claimed that the incident occurred during his breakup with his current girlfriend and that he hadn’t shown up at her place with a weapon. He also mentioned that he had already given all these details to the police.
This, however, isn’t Choi Jung Won’s first controversy. Previously, he faced allegations of an affair with a married woman, and was sued by the woman’s husband for ₩100 million KRW (about $71,800 USD)in December 2022. However, Choi denied the allegations and countersued the husband for defamation and intimidation.
