Back in January 2024, idol-turned-criminal Seungri, formerly of BIGBANG fame, was spotted hosting an event in Cambodia, where he mentioned G-Dragon and faced massive backlash from K-Pop fans.

Now, the video is serving as alleged “proof” that he’s linked to Cambodia’s most notorious conglomerate, known for running a compound for organized cybercrimes.

In the video, behind Seungri, a logo for “Prince Brewing” can be seen. While “Prince Brewing” promotes itself as “the finest craft beer and entertainment lounge located in the center of Phnom Penh,” South Koreans are focusing in on the name “Prince” itself.

Prince Brewing is owned by Prince Holding Group, “one of the largest conglomerates in Cambodia.”

Prince Holding Group is one of the largest conglomerates in Cambodia, with its various units focusing on three core areas: real estate development, financial services and consumer services.

This is the same “Prince Group” that multiple news outlets have mentioned as one of the operators of Cambodia’s “criminal districts,” including a massive “Prince Compound” named after the group, where investment scams, illegal gambling, kidnapping, confinement, and even murder run rampant.

At least two other Prince Group-linked properties have previously been connected with human trafficking and cyberscam operations, according to local and international media reports.

Prince Group spokesperson Gabriel Tan told RFA that while the conglomerate built the Golden Fortune compound, it did so at the request of a client, whom he declined to identify. Asked about allegations of trafficking and cyberscam operations within the compound he added, ‘we are unaware of the incident you mentioned.’

Seungri’s video began re-circulating amid a string of recent kidnapping and confinement incidents involving South Koreans in Cambodia.

The resurfaced video has convinced some online communities to speculate that Seungri might be affiliated with the Prince Holding Group, and therefore, “he might not be entirely unrelated to the compound.”

  • “If he went to that event knowing what the Prince Holding Group does, then he’s seriously a terrible person. But if he didn’t know and just did it because they offered money, then he’s just plain stupid, right?”
  • “What even is this guy?”
  • “[The information about Prince Holding Group] in the comments is frightening as hell.”
  • “What the-“
  • “Seungri is really showing us the lowest point of a downfall… He’s already been on the path of a criminal since Burning Sun.”
  • “Judging by how he acts, he’ll probably end up back in jail.”
  • “The Unanswered Questions episode about the cybercrime compounds in Cambodia was terrifying.”
  • “This goes way beyond just petty crime…”
  • “Whoa. He reminds me of Lee Jun Seok.”
  • “This is crazy…”
  • “I’m curious how his life will end up.”
  • “What’s even going on with him? Why does he keep looking to make money like that?”

Of course, it is important to note that, amid all the speculations, there is no verified evidence confirming any direct link between Seungri and Prince Holding Group at this time.
