IVE Decode Secret Emotions With Dreamy New Single ‘XOXZ’

K-pop powerhouses IVE are back, and this time, they are peeling back the glittering layers of confidence to reveal something deeper, bolder, and more mysterious. On August 25, the six-member group – An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo – dropped their fourth mini-album, IVE SECRET, across all major music platforms, sending shockwaves through the industry.

Leading the charge is the title track ‘XOXZ’, a hypnotic song built on a foundation of heavy 808 bass, bold brass, and solid drums that drive the tension. The track’s dreamy charm is amplified by low tone raps and minimalist vocals. The title itself is a new slang term coined by IVE, meaning “I love you, good night. And see you in my dreams.”

The song’s lyrics were penned by member Jang Wonyoung alongside hitmaking lyricist Seo Jieum. The duo, a fan favorite combination who previously worked on the group’s track ‘ATTITUDE’, once again prove their synergy. They craftily express complex feelings like a secret code, perfectly capturing IVE’s chic and mysterious identity. The accompanying music video visualizes this concept, depicting the members inviting themselves into a secret dream world created and defined on their own terms.

The mini album is rounded out by five other tracks, including ‘Wild Bird’, ‘Dear, My Feelings’, ‘GOTCHA (Baddest Eros)’, ‘삐빅 (♥beats)’, and ‘Midnight Kiss’, each exploring different emotions and moods to complete the album’s cohesive narrative.
