Someday (from Snowflake – 2016)

Snowflake is a strong album, but sometimes its b-sides can be dwarfed by Rough’s immense shadow. Someday is light and bouncy but there’s still enough going on within its production to make it an early career standout. Its effusive chorus has the feel of early SNSD or Apink, complete with lilting strings that give it a fairy-like appeal. I especially like the catchy pre-chorus and dramatic bridge. Both segments add extra oomph to the track in different ways. That’s why we need to normalize 3+ minute songs again. Pop music needs space for all these fun asides!
