K-Pop once again showcased its growing influence in the United States, claiming seven out of the top 10 spots on the year-end list of best-selling CDs for 2024. The rankings, compiled by American music data tracker Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), cover CD sales between December 29, 2023, and January 2, 2025.
Stars like Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, TXT, and TWICE demonstrated their immense global popularity, with Stray Kids and ATEEZ each having two albums on the list. These groups continue to cement their place as some of the top-selling artists in the physical album market, which remains a significant component of K-Pop’s international success.
1. Stray Kids
Stray Kids led the charge for K-pop with ATE, selling an impressive 442,000 copies, making it the second-highest-selling CD of the year.
Their second entry, 合 (HOP), also performed well, reaching 248,000 copies sold.
2. ENHYPEN
ENHYPEN’s ROMANCE: UNTOLD secured the third spot among K-pop albums, selling 363,000 copies.
3. ATEEZ
ATEEZ had a remarkable year as well, with their two-part series GOLDEN HOUR making the list. Part 1 sold 250,000 units, while Part 2 followed closely with 225,000.
4. TXT
TXT’s “minisode 3: TOMORROW” was another highlight, achieving 240,000 in sales.
5. TWICE
Meanwhile, TWICE rounded out the K-pop representation as the only girl group with With YOU-th, which sold 174,000 copies.
The dominance of K-Pop in physical album sales reflects the genre’s unique ability to cultivate loyal fanbases who continue to support their favorite artists through tangible purchases. As K-Pop groups maintain a strong foothold in international markets, their impact on global music trends only continues to grow.
