As South Korea prepares for its next presidential election, which will be held on June 3, 2025 (KST), the candidates are hard at work promoting themselves.

Yoon Suk Yeol Has Officially Been Impeached From South Korea’s Presidency

Amid their passionate campaigns, the KBS broadcasting station’s KBS WORLD Arabic official YouTube channel has shown support for the People Power Party. During a recent presidential debate, KBS WORLD Arabic channel was spotted in the chat, rooting for candidate Kim Moon Soo.

Alongside other comments voicing support for their favorite candidates, the official KBS channel’s comment read, “Moon Soo is doing great tonight.”

Koreans have since slammed KBS, one of Korea’s three main public broadcasting stations, for the colossal mistake—with some even questioning if the station might have violated any laws in endorsing a specific candidate from a particular party during election season.

In response, KBS claimed that the channel was hacked…

KBS WORLD Arabic used to have 290K+ subscribers as it shared K-Pop and other Korean entertainment content subtitled for its international viewers.

Following the “delete-and-run,” Koreans remain unimpressed and unconvinced by KBS and continue to press for a better explanation.
