Korea’s Biggest Celebrities Donate Over 3 Billion KRW To Help Fight Korea’s Deadliest Wildfires In History

Dozens of Korea’s most well-known celebrities are joining in the efforts to help emergency services and rescue workers’ attempts to control the deadliest and worst ever wildfires in the nation’s history.

South Korea’s eastern countryside is currently experiencing the worst wildfires in the history of the nation, with the death toll currently at 26 and overv 36,000 hectares burned. 37,185 residents and counting have been forced to evacuate their homes while historical venues and buildings burn to ashes.

This includes the historical Gounsa Temple, which was built in 681 A.D.

While the government has declared they will do everything in their power to both extinguish the fires and care for the local residents, many of whom are elderly, strong winds are hindering their efforts to calm the blaze.
