Recently, a short video clip showing a supposed live-action remake of Netflix’s hit animated movie KPop Demong Hunters took the internet by storm, leaving many fans confused.

The 35-second video, which spread rapidly through platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, showed actors seemingly preparing for filming on set with staff while in full costume and makeup. What left many baffled was how closely the actors resembled the characters of the animation, including Rumi, Zoey, and Mira of the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, as well as Jinu and Mystery from the boy group Saja Boys.
The clip had surfaced on Thursday, September 18, and by the next day, it racked up more than 2.6 million views.
However, fans were disappointed when the footage was confirmed to be AI-generated. The video came from a popular YouTube channel called Fantasoner, which exclusively posts AI-generated content.
Fans were left divided after this discovery. While some found it impressive how realistic the video looked, others expressed concerned over it. Some tech experts also echoed the concerns over the ethical implications of these hyper-realistic AI-generated content.
Meanwhile, established K-Pop and K-Drama artists have also come under fire recently due to AI usage in their content. Read more about it here:
