Sony‘s latest hit flick KPop Demon Hunters has landed in hot water after the release of their latest merch drop. Netflix‘s official store unveiled four brand-new t-shirts this week, but instead of excitement, the designs sparked disappointment among fans and netizens alike.

Photos of the merch quickly spread across online communities, where many criticized the shirts as being “tacky” and “cheap-looking.”

While some acknowledged the effort to diversify the show’s offerings, the overall consensus leaned negative, with comments pointing out that the designs were absolutely in bad taste.

The shirts simply featured a printed design of the main characters on a plain or tie-dyed background.

- “Stop with the merch.”
- “Tacky.”

- “Can they not give up on that tie-dye design? Just how outdated is it? It FR looks like one of those otaku prints from the abyss.”
- “Urgh.”
The controversy has now sparked debate about the quality of Netflix’s K-Pop merchandise, with many urging companies to put more thought into designs that represent the work.
