Kuala Lumpur was swept into K-drama fever on August 10–11 as Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga-young, the beloved leads of tvN Asia’s Law and the City, made their highly anticipated Malaysian stop for the ‘Star Tour’. This marked Malaysia as the only Southeast Asian stop for the drama’s promotional events, giving local fans a rare chance to meet the stars in person — a memory that will be cherished for years to come.
The excitement began at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where more than hundreds of fans gathered at the entrance despite the rainy weather. The area was adorned with striking Law and the City posters, setting the perfect backdrop for the stars’ arrival. As Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga-young walked the red carpet, they took time to sign the posters and even snapped selfies with a few lucky fans, drawing cheers from the crowd. The atmosphere was electric as the actors waved and greeted everyone, their warm smiles cutting through the drizzle.
Exclusive Finale Screening — Together With the Stars
Following the public meet-and-greet, the pair headed to Dadi Cinema for a special finale screening. While the episode aired simultaneously across Asia, this event was made truly unique by the fact that fans experienced the heart-stopping conclusion in the same theatre as the lead actors.
Before the screening, Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga-young greeted the audience, thanked them for their support, and shared how meaningful it was to watch the ending together. Laughter, applause, and a shared emotional connection filled the room as the story unfolded on the big screen.
Press Conference — Charm, Insights & Laughter
The next day, the stars met the press in Kuala Lumpur, with Lee Jong Suk looking sharp in a tailored suit and Moon Ga-young exuding casual elegance in a red-and-white blouse paired with trousers. They introduced their characters — Lee Jong Suk as Ahn Joo-hyung and Mun Ga-young as Kang Hee-ji — before diving into candid stories about filming.
When asked what drew her to the project, Moon Ga-young admitted with a smile, “Honestly, it was because of Lee Jong Suk oppa. I loved the script, but the amazing cast sealed the deal.” Lee Jong Suk revealed he was drawn to the role because it let him show a more relatable side of himself, something closer to everyday life.
Both stars reminisced about filming in Hong Kong, with Moon Ga-young recalling the excitement of exploring a new city and Lee Jong Suk praising the great weather during the shoot. When it came to food, Moon Ga-young couldn’t forget the egg tarts, while Lee Jong Suk cheekily mentioned Hai Di Lao — which he happily enjoyed again during his Malaysia trip.
Their mutual admiration was evident throughout the session. Moon Ga-young praised Lee Jong Suk’s leadership and care for the cast, while he in turn applauded her calm focus and ability to bring her character to life. Asked whether she was a workaholic, Moon Ga-young laughed, “Yes, definitely. I haven’t taken a break, which is why I have two shows this year.” Both agreed they had never imagined any career other than acting — a passion they’ve carried since young.
To close the press conference, a custom cake was presented to the stars — revealing a hidden image of them beneath the first layer, sparking laughter and applause.Lee Jong Suk shared, “It’s my first time in Malaysia, and watching the finale together with fans was truly meaningful. The hospitality has been so warm — I’m grateful.” Moon Ga-young added, “This memory of watching the last episode with fans will stay with me forever.”
What’s Next?
Lee Jong Suk teased his upcoming drama Leonardo and expressed hopes to return to Malaysia next year, while Moon Ga-young revealed plans for her Asia Tour later this year and a new movie release — promising fans more moments together in the near future. As the two stars waved their final goodbye, one thing was clear — Malaysia had fallen even more in love with them, and the feeling was mutual.
