Former S.E.S. member Shoo has finally broken her silence on the double controversy that has followed her for years — her overseas gambling scandal and her brief, highly criticized return as a BJ.
On August 8, Shoo launched her YouTube channel Human, That’s Shoo and uploaded a video titled “The Controversial Incident, I’m Telling Everything Today. First Reveal,” where she addressed the rumors head-on.
Shoo was convicted in 2019 for habitual overseas gambling, having bet billions of won in Macau and other countries between 2016 and 2018. She received a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years, along with community service. It is now reported that she has repaid all debts. Later on, she returned to the public eye in 2022 through a livestream. The live stream received criticism after she showed up in a racy outfit.

In 2022, she attempted a comeback through live streaming as a BJ, but her first broadcast sparked backlash after she wore a revealing outfit. She wore a top with a deep neckline.
“At the time, I needed money urgently, and I received an offer to stream. I wanted it to be a channel to communicate with fans, but I chose the wrong outfit for my first show.”
She explained that the cut-out fashion trend and studio lighting made the outfit appear more revealing than intended. She further clarified that the stream was not for receiving monetary donations but was part of a contract that included a signing bonus to handle pressing financial matters.
According to Shoo, while she regrets her choices, she also was grateful for being able to live stream, as it allowed her to communicate with fans. The video marks Shoo’s most candid public explanation yet, with fans and netizens debating whether this will pave the way for a genuine return to the spotlight.
