Things looked bleak when Lovelyz went on hiatus/disbanded back in 2021, and as recently as early in 2024, Seo Ji Soo put the chances of a reunion at 5%. Fortunately, 2024 has been a bit of a whirlwind for them as they performed on Hangout With Yoo’s festival in June, reunited on broadcast via the show in July, and then had their 10th anniversary concert announced in September (to be held today and tomorrow).
They also recently returned with a reunion 10th anniversary single in the appropriately titled “November”. While it’s not necessarily a banger like some of their best title tracks, it does oddly enough standout in the current musical landscape just by throwing back to their signature sound, which is honestly more than I expected and does enough to deserve its own post in the 2024 K-pop landscape.
I know they won’t, but they should simply continue on and release a mini or something. In somewhat of a twist, they have this sound all to themselves nowadays.
