MAMAMOO’s Solar has spoken out once again about the rumors surrounding her kiss scene with BTOB’s Lee Changsub, putting an end to speculation. Though it happened nearly 3 years ago, rumors about the kiss have often gone viral.

The topic came up during her guest appearance on SBS’s Two O’Clock Escape Cultwo Show, where she was joined by fellow singer Roy Kim and special DJ Muzi. Solar — who is currently busy promoting her latest single, “WANT” — cleared the air about the viral rumor that she spat after sharing a kiss with Changsub during their musical Mata Hari.
The two stars performed together in the musical back in 2022, and ever since then, their shared kiss has often been brought up during variety show appearances. In particular, during a segment on Amazing Saturday last August, one of the hosts jokingly mentioned that Solar had “spat” after the kiss. The comment quickly went viral, and now, Solar has addressed the speculation.

She explained that the rumors were based on a misunderstanding.
Changsub and I are friends. We both felt awkward doing the kiss scene. We just got it done in 0.1 seconds, like a quick task.

Solar’s role in Mata Hari as the title character has been a major milestone in her career. The musical tells the tragic story of Margaretha Zelle, a woman who — after enduring an abusive and unfaithful marriage — reinvents herself as the celebrated dancer Mata Hari. Her story takes a dark turn as she is falsely accused of espionage and ultimately executed by the French government to boost national morale during World War I.
Solar’s portrayal of the complex and iconic figure received widespread praise for her emotional depth and powerful performance.
