MONSTA X is officially in comeback mode. The powerhouse K-pop group is set to release their new mini album THE X on September 1 at 6PM KST, marking a bold new chapter as they celebrate their 10th anniversary.
On August 5, Starship Entertainment dropped a surprise schedule poster across MONSTA X’s official social channels, revealing a packed lineup of teaser content leading up to the release. Designed like a vintage flyer, the poster teases everything from track lists and concept photos to MV teasers and performance clips, ramping up anticipation among global fans.
According to the schedule, MONSTA X will unveil the tracklist on August 8, followed by two concept photo sets: the ‘UNKNOWN X’ version on August 10 and ‘HELLO X’ on August 12. A pre-release single will drop on August 18, preceded by a music video teaser on August 16 and followed by a performance video on August 21.
From there, fans can expect a steady flow of visual content including the ‘UNDERDOG X’ and ‘XX’ concept photos (August 23 and 25), a title track music video teaser on August 30, and a full album preview on August 31. The poster also features a mysterious teaser line, “REMIX DROPS SOON!”, sparking buzz across fan communities.
In a surprise move, MONSTA X also released the official trailer for THE X alongside the poster reveal. The cinematic clip features a haunting visual palette reminiscent of Korean classic cinema, paired with the group’s signature intensity. The trailer closes with a poignant voiceover from I.M: “Ten years is not the end. It’s the beginning of something entirely new.”
The mini album THE X carries deep meaning. Not only does the title represent “the one unknown,” it also alludes to infinite potential and reinvention, fitting for a group marking a full decade in the industry. The "X" also ties back to the Roman numeral for 10, cementing the release as a symbolic moment in the group’s journey. MONSTA X is poised to challenge the familiar and redefine their sound once again.
Fresh off their triumphant group performance at KCON LA 2025, their first KCON stage in nine year, the group proved why they remain one of K-pop’s most enduring acts. Their powerful showing lit up U.S. morning shows KCAL News and KTLA 5 Morning News, further highlighting their global reach.
Now, all eyes are on September 1 as MONSTA X begins their next era with THE X. Fans can expect an album that blends the past, present, and future in only the way MONSTA X can.
