Netizens Beg For 4th Gen Group’s Contract Termination After Spending 1000+ Days On Hiatus

While fans often worry about the effects of an idol being overworked, not having enough work can also be a huge issue for groups attempting to build up their fame.

Not having enough activities can lead to a group’s disbandment, as they fail to keep the momentum rolling, no matter how talented they are. Long-term hiatuses are hard to endure, and few groups survive them.

What Happened? The Only K-Pop Group That Has Survived A 12+ Year Hiatus

Though fans usually do not want contract termination, fans of girl group CLASS:y have been pushed into demanding it from the company.

CLASS:y, a group formed from MBC‘s audition program My Teenage Girls, debuted in May 2022. The members are signed with and managed by M25, a label 100% owned by POCKETDOL STUDIO.

The group initially had a standard level of activities, but after 2022, went a total of 751 days between official Korean comebacks. Love XX was announced to be a mini album, but only contains two tracks and instrumental versions of them.

Since this release, CLASS:y have entered another hiatus, currently at 317 days and counting. This means that of the group’s 1,242 days together, 1,068 days have been on hiatus.

Recently, as netizens discussed survival show groups, many brought up CLASS:y, lamenting on their activity level and renewing demands for the company to let them go.
