What’s coming to screens this December? Grab a cozy blanket and get comfy because these exciting new K-Dramas are on the way!
1. December 4 – Light Shop
Kang Pool, who wrote the webtoon this series is based on, Jomyeonggage, also penned the screenplay for this 8-episode Disney+ adaptation. Light Shop follows a group of strangers who are all drawn to a mysterious light shop that is visited by spirits.
2. December 5 – Sorry Not Sorry
Sorry Not Sorry is a comedy that follows three women as their lives become entangled. One is a debt-riddled ex-bride-to-be who struggles financially after being dumped. The second is a hardworking mother and former friend of the ex-bride. The third woman is a sassy pottery teacher who lives life by her own rules. Sorry Not Sorry will air on KBS Joy.
3. December 18 – Who Is She
In this new KBS2 series, a 70-something-year-old widowed mother who lost her husband early in life suddenly ages backward. Now in the body of her 20-year-old self, she assumes a new identity and decides to take advantage of her second chance by making her longtime dream of becoming a singer come true.
4. December 21 – Check-In Hanyang
This Joseon-era period drama follows four interns who work at a prestigious guesthouse. None of them are who they claim to be. One is a woman disguised as a man, another a prince in disguise. The third intern is the guesthouse’s heir who has no desire to inherit the business, and the fourth is a man in serious need of cash. Tune in to Check-in Hanyang on Channel A to watch their friendship unfold.
5. December 23 – The Starry Night
The Starry Night (also called Namib) follows a talented K-Pop producer who gets fired from her position at an entertainment company for unknown reasons. As the breadwinner, who financially supports her stay-at-home husband and their deaf son, she can’t afford to be unemployed. She starts a new project with the intention of turning one promising trainee into a star. The Starry Night will be available to watch on ENA, Genie TV, and Viki.
6. December 26 – Squid Game 2
Three years after Squid Game became a global sensation, Lee Jung Jae is back as Seong Gi Hun and so are Squid Game‘s deadly games. In this action-packed horror-thriller, Gi Hun reenters the games to exact revenge and shut down the games once and for all. Will he succeed? Squid Game 2 will be available to watch on Netflix.
