Popular actress Lee Young Ae recently confessed that her daughter is auditioning to become a K-Pop idol.

On September 8, KST, Lee appeared a special guest on the popular YouTube channel Zzanbro, together with her new K-Drama co-stars Kim Young Kwang and Park Yon Woo. During their conversation with host Shin Dong Youp, Lee talked about her kids and their personalities.

Lee Young Ae is mother to twin kids — a son and a daughter. The 15-year-olds have very different personalities, according to Lee, who revealed that while her son is like his father, her daughter has taken after her. She then revealed that her daughter’s dreams are also inspired by her mother.

Lee Young Ae shared that her daughter liked K-Pop idols so much that she had started going to auditions herself. “I just let her,” the actress said, adding that she didn’t want her daughter to grow up resenting her for stopping from achieving her dreams. She added that her daughter was a big fan of TXT and BOYNEXTDOOR, sharing that she often took her to watch their shows.

Despite being supportive of her hobbies and dreams, the actress still felt guilty toward her daughter. She explained that her daughter was under the false impression that having an entertainment career was easy. “She only sees the bright and fun parts when she looks at me,” Lee confessed, adding that the young girl didn’t perceive the back-breaking hard work it took for the actress to get where she is today.

Lee Young Ae married US-based Korean business man Jeong Ho Young in 2009. Her twin children were born in 2011, and she introduced them to the public in 2014, through an SBS variety show. Back then, her daughter gained significant attention for her distinct facial features. Currently, Lee’s daughter is enrolled in the vocal music department at Seonhwa Arts Middle School.
