NMIXX has made music history as the first K-pop girl group to have their "Tiny Desk Korea" performance featured on the official NPR Music YouTube channel.
The Tiny Desk Korea video, released in September 2024 and shared on the main channel on January 5, includes all six members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, BAE, Jiwoo, and Kyujin.
"Tiny Desk Korea," a localized version of NPR's popular "Tiny Desk Concert," features intimate live performances from Korean artists with no post-production editing or mixing.
"This is exciting," said leader and main vocalist HAEWON in the Tiny Desk video.
"It's our first time singing without in-ear monitors. We can feel the vibe of this place."
The girls performed a set of five tracks, including Love Me Like This, DASH, Run For Roses, 별별별 (See that?), and Love Is Lonely, and a live band with sax, bass, drums, keyboard, melodica, castanets, the tambourine, and Glockenspiel accompanists.
The achievement is another milestone for the group, which gained notoriety in October 2024 as the first K-pop act to participate in Billboard's Latin Music Week with their panel "K-pop Goes Latin with NMIXX." At the panel, members Haewon and Bae participated in the discussion with Billboard's deputy editor Lyndsey Havens, where they performed a track in Spanish.
