As new K-Pop groups prepare for their upcoming debuts, fans are still processing that the industry is now entering the fifth generation of K-Pop groups.
But even though K-Pop has already reached the fifth generation, there are still active second-generation K-Pop groups that continue to impress netizens with their immense skills. Here are the ten second-generation K-Pop girl groups currently active in the industry.
1. Apink
Apink debuted in 2011 with the iconic song, ‘I Don’t Know.”
Apink releases a new fan-song every year, and for 2025, they released “Tap Clap”.
2. Big Mama
Big Mama made their debut in 2003 with their album Like The Bible.
Big Mama disbanded in 2012 but unexpectedly reunited in 2021 and have continued to release new music since, also performing at concerts and music festivals.
3. Davichi
Davichi made their debut in 2008 with their album Amaranth.
Davichi’s most recent comeback was in November 2024.
4. Girls’ Generation
Girls’ Generation debuted in 2007 with their iconic hit “Into The New World.”
While the majority of the members have departed SM Entertainment and are working on their solo projects, the members found time to come together to record a remake of CSJH The Grace’s track “My Everything” for SM Entertainment’s 30 year anniversary album.
5. J Rabbit
J Rabbit debuted in 2010 with the song “Take One.”
The duo has remained active since their debut, releasing the OST “Happiness” for the 2022 K-Drama The Interest of Love. While it’s been a few years since their last musical release, they continue to perform at festivals throughout Korea.
6. KARA
KARA made their debut in 2007 with “Break It.”
Although KARA disbanded in 2016, the group reunited to release the album Move Again in 2022. They followed this up with another comeback in July 2024, and announced a Japan Tour for July and August 2025.
7. OKDAL
OKDAL made their debut in 2010 with the album Okdal Radio.
Most recently, OKDAL released “Diving” in March 2024, but they continue to perform at music festivals throughout Korea as well as their own small-form concerts.
8. Sunny Hill
Sunny Hill made their debut in 2007 with Love Letter but really first became known through their hit OST “Pit-A-Pat”.
Although the group’s line-up continually changed, with only two members at the present: Bitna and Eunju, they have performed at several military bases as recently as last year.
9. T-ARA
T-ARA made their debut “Lie” in 2009.
While the group hasn’t released new music since 2021, they have held activities in China and Southeast Asia over the past year, such as their 2024 fan meeting in Macau.
