Throughout the years, K-Pop groups have experimented with various concepts for comebacks, ranging from simple changes in styling to full-blown lore. In recent years, groups have continued to incorporate lore into their comebacks, such as ENHYPEN‘s vampire lore, which is further expanded upon in the webtoon, Dark Moon: The Blood Altar.

In 2012, Jellyfish Entertainment formed VIXX through the survival show MyDOL, and their debut with “Super Hero” featured bright and colorful theming.
VIXX | JellyFish EntertainmentWith the release of their third single album, the group transitioned to darker and more emotional concepts, as seen in tracks like “HYDE.” Their releases continued to feature various concepts, such as the voodoo doll horror-themed “Voodoo Doll” and the android-themed “Error.”

VIXX’s Ken | JellyFish EntertainmentIn 2015, the group returned with their second full album, titled Chained Up, which featured the group “swearing” loyalty to their love to the point of servitude. The group’s concept photos featured them wearing collars, something seen as a sign of possession in BDSM (Bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism) relationships, both sexual and non-sexual.
The album’s B-side tracks, including “Mistress,” helped to clarify the concept completely.
