Popular HYBE Rookie Idol Set To Make Acting Debut In SBS Drama

She will be the first in the group to venture into acting.

A popular HYBE idol is reportedly preparing to make her acting debut very soon!

The idol in question is none other than Wonhee, a beloved member of the fifth-gen girl group, ILLIT.

According to reports, Wonhee will be joining the cast of the upcoming SBS youth drama, Spring of Youth, marking her official debut as an actress!

The drama’s production team confirmed the news on April 24. In an official statement, the team confirmed that they had approached Wonhee with a request for a special appearance, which she happily accepted. On the same day, a still cut of Wonhee’s character was also released, stirring up anticipation.

In addition to Wonhee, FT Island‘s Lee Hong Gi will also make an appearance in the show, marking his return to the screen after the iconic 2009 K-Drama, You’re Beautiful. 

Meanwhile, Spring of Youth will tell the story of Sa Gye (played by Ha Yu Jun), a K-Pop idol who is suddenly expelled from his group. He eventually finds hope and redemption in Kim Bom (played by Park Ji Hoo). The show is scheduled to premiere on May 6 and 7 with special episodes. It will be followed by weekly airings every Wednesday on SBS.
