TWICE’s Chaeyoung has officially released her first full album, but the sales performance is already sparking debate among fans. Despite excitement for her long-awaited solo project, the numbers quickly took a surprising turn.

Her album LIL FANTASY vol.1 opened strong on its first day with 114,423 copies sold, but the momentum slowed sharply afterward.

By day two, sales dropped to just 287 copies, and on day three, only 369 were sold. Day four saw a slight bump at 9,831 copies, but the overall trajectory has left fans stunned.

Comparisons to her fellow members make the situation even more striking. Nayeon’s second mini album N/A sold 286,290 copies on its first day, while Jihyo’s debut ZONE hit 361,104 copies on day one alone. Even though both also saw steep second-day drops, their opening numbers were far higher than Chaeyoung’s, creating a sharp contrast in overall impact.

The numbers have sparked strong reactions and even mockery or ridicule from some international netizens on X. Others defended her, pointing out that online discourse often reduces idols’ worth to chart performance.

I just want to know what made them think of all Twice members she was the one to get a full album. She’s at the bottom of most bias’ list. No hate but it’s the truth.

these people are so crazy for thinking 100k++ sales is a flop and tanked when many groups and solo artists still can't reach and have it. cy will be richer and the haters will just cry in their rooms with that lame mentality

Its so sad how kpop its all about sales and charts now, these are good numbers for a debut album just imagine 100k people outside your fucking house

While the album showcases Chaeyoung’s individuality and creative direction, the numbers highlight how challenging solo ventures can be, even for idols from top groups. Whether LIL FANTASY vol.1 stabilizes in the coming weeks remains to be seen, but its early performance has already become a hot topic among fans and industry watchers alike.
