On September 13, MBC PLUS released the short-form drama “My Ex-Husband Is 18”. The production stars K-Pop idols from XODIAC (HyunSik, Wayne, BeomSoo) and ICHILLIN’ (E.Ji, YeJu), who boast a global fandom, drawing strong interest at home and abroad.

“My Ex-Husband Is 18” is based on a popular Chinese webtoon. The story begins when Yoon HaRin (played by E.Ji) returns to her high school days from 10 years ago and resolves to take revenge on her ex-husband, Kang SiU (played by HyunSik).

Kang SiU’s ex-girlfriend, Jung SeRin (played by YeJu), interferes with HaRin’s revenge plan and heightens the conflict, while top student Seo JiHoon (played by Wayne) stays by HaRin’s side, adding a subtle tension.

Even within short episodes, revenge, jealousy, and compassion intertwine, maintaining unpredictable developments and emotional suspense. Each episode runs around one minute, delivering immersion optimized for mobile viewing.

The drama is being released simultaneously on the short-form drama platforms “DramaBox” and “ShortMax,” as well as on the global fandom app “IDOLCHAMP.” Operated by MBC PLUS, IDOLCHAMP offers the drama via its “ShortChamp” service.

This work is co-produced by Moon Production—which has supplied various short-form titles such as “Fated Mate of the Nine-Tailed Fox” to ReelShort and built extensive production experience—and MWM, which holds the Chinese webtoon IP for “My Ex-Husband Is 18”.

Even with its brief running time, the series tightly captures character backstories and relationships, signaling new possibilities for short-form drama.

Meanwhile, IDOLCHAMP, the K-Pop fandom platform that released “My Ex-Husband Is 18”, recently launched “ShortChamp,” a service specialized for videos around one minute long. Content provided on ShortChamp, including this drama, supports multiple languages such as Korean, English, and Japanese, making it easily accessible to overseas fans.

MBC PLUS stated, “Starting with this project, we will ramp up the production of short-form content based on idol IP and further strengthen communication with the global fandom through IDOLCHAMP.”
