Popular “Resident Playlist” OST Leads To Criticism Of HYBE And BIGHIT

One of the hottest K-Dramas right now is Resident Playlist, the spinoff show for the popular show Hospital Playlist.

One of the characters is Um Jae Il (Kang You Seok), a resident who used to be a popular idol in the band HI-BOYZ. The group finally made an appearance in one of the final episodes and was joined by his bandmates, who happen to be TXT‘s Soobin and Yeonjun.

Of course, rather than a song for HI-BOYZ, the track is an OST for the K-Drama sung by the members of TXT, and it has quickly become a huge hit among netizens.

Following the song’s release, the popular account @kchartsmaster revealed that the track was storming the charts after the release.

It isn’t always easy to peak high on these charts, and after fans saw the success, they hit back at BIGHIT and HYBE, explaining that TXT is popular and can chart high, but it is the company restricting their success. In particular, some pointed out that experimenting with TXT rather than sticking to a sound that is popular, such as bright music, and having a different formula away from HYBE has showcased this success.
