Red Velvet Irene's recent fansign event became a "nightmare" for a fan after a guard allegedly touched her private part during the inspection.
On December 9, a ReVeluv belatedly detailed on social media that her friend, who's also a Red Velvet fan, was sexually assaulted by a security guard before going on the stage.
The incident happened during Irene's Ktown4U fansign on the 7th. The OP detailed that her friend was summoned by the guards after she was suspected of carrying a hidden cam, which was prohibited during the interaction with the celebrity.
At the time, the guard didn't just harshly search her padded jacket but made "unreasonable demands" during the inspection.
"He demanded me to roll up my sleeve even though it was already up to my elbow. He (also) told me to jump up and down," said the victim in a text to the uploader.
"He asked her if he could touch her chest. However, from the point of view of a fan who should follow the staff unconditionally to avoid being kicked out, how many fans can confidently say, 'Don't touch my body?" added the victim's friend.

The OP insisted that although the guard didn't directly touch her friend's chest and instead used the back of his hand, they wondered about the need for such inspection as if treating them like criminals.
When the post spread online, fans sympathized with the victim and recalled their similar experiences. Netizens blamed SM Entertainment and demanded to respect fangirls' basic human rights and privacy.
