Cha Hyun Seung, a popular K-Pop dancer and a former Single’s Inferno contestant, has shared an update about his ongoing battle with leukemia.

Cha recently posted a video on his YouTube channel, documenting a day in his life as a cancer patient at the hospital. In the video, he begins his day at 5:30 am with some stretching and getting his blood drawn. Before taking his pre-meal medication, he also gets his blood pressure and temperature taken.
The dancer didn’t try to filter the raw experiences of going through cancer treatment. In the video, he showed his skin peeling from his palms, explaining that it keeps healing and then peeling again. He also shared his daily journal, where he records his daily intake, excretion, and blood test results. Cha explained that this neutrophil count needed to be over 1,000, but the reports showed it was in the 200s range, indicating that he was still in the process of recovery.
Cha Hyun Seung also talked about the psychological aspect of fighting the disease, revealing that he does daily journaling to ease his mind. During his hospital stay, however, it was too difficult for him to write things down. So, he recorded his days on his phone instead and planned to copy them into his journal again. “It gives me a chance to reflect on my past and find my inner strength,” he added.
He also showed some lighter moments of his day, like washing his scalp with a cleansing foam. He joked that now, with all his hair gone, he could cleanse his whole head in one step. Despite his positive outlook, his gaunt appearance due to the treatment left many viewers heartbroken. Others left messages of encouragement under the video, with some even sharing about their own journey of overcoming leukemia.
Cha Hyun Seung first shared his leukemia battle on social media on September 27, KST. From the very beginning, he has shown a resolute mindset to win over this disease, and his vlogs continue to be a faithful documentation of this incredible fighting spirit.
