In 2007, Girls' Generation (also known as SNSD) debuted under SM Entertainment with "Into the New World," the same track that propelled them to stardom as the most iconic girl group in history.

Aside from serving as a cheerful hymn, this song also imprinted its name in the music scene for its resolute lyrics, which became a significant tool for political revolution.

About 18 years later, "Into the New World" was once again heard during a protest, in hopes that South Koreans would unite amid the country's rough time.

In a viral X video, the OP shared a clip of hundreds of Millenials and Gen Z students at the Seoul National University (SNU), singing the girl group's track at a candlelight vigil in front of the National Assembly following a protest march from Gwanghwamun.

The protest calls for the impeachment of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who imposed a Martial Law on December 3. This lasted overnight, as it was reversed the next day after the MPs voted to block his decision.

SNSD's debut track, especially its lyrics that include "Our rough path in front of us// Might be an unknown future and challenge// But we can't give up" gave strength to the MZ gen protesters and invoked emotions of solidarity among those present at the movement.
