In the world of K-pop, sasaeng fans are widely condemned for their obsessive and invasive behavior, often crossing boundaries by stalking idols, leaking personal information, or even endangering their safety. While most idols find themselves victims of such extreme “fans,” there have been rare cases where the line between idol and sasaeng blurred in shocking ways.

One of the most infamous examples is Trinity, a former member of the girl group GLAM. The group debuted in 2012 under BigHit Entertainment, well before BigHit rose to global prominence through BTS. GLAM initially gained attention for their edgy, girl-crush image and ambitious concept, but failed to hit a peak.

Shortly after their debut, Trinity abruptly left the group. Official statements cited “personal reasons,” but fans and industry insiders circulated a much darker rumor: that Trinity had once been a sasaeng fan of Super Junior’s Leeteuk. Allegedly, she had obsessively followed and harassed the idol before her debut, a past that quickly caught up with her once she entered the public eye. Though no formal confirmation was ever made by her agency, speculation was rampant. Some claimed that Trinity’s prior behavior was so widely known in fandom circles that it created tension and reputational damage for the newly launched group. As GLAM was trying to gain traction in a competitive industry, the controversy surrounding her past may have made it impossible for her to continue as a member.

After GLAM, she moved into acting and modelling. More recently, she’s famous for being close friends with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. The two most recently met up for ice-cream in June 2025.
