Ticketing Chaos: Waterbomb Festival Faces Backlash Over WordPress Glitches, More

2 hours ago 1

Since the highly anticipated announcement of Waterbomb Manila 2025 in July 2024, fans from the Philippines have been eager to make a splash. However, on the much-awaited ticketing day, the event's organizers faced a wave of backlash for the ticketing process.

On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), ticket buyers unleashed their anger towards the organizers for using WordPress as the event's ticketing platform instead of a more robust ticketing site.

One issue that fans complained about was the "crashing" of the official website. Furious netizens also remarked how they couldn't get through the stages of securing their tickets without experiencing an error at every step

A fumed netizen wrote on X, "This stupid a** organizer used WordPress for the ticketing system. @Waterbomb_PH now we're all blocked because it kept f****** crashing."

"Waterbomb PH's web ticket sale (was) built with WordPress. Why can't they (have) partnered with a proper ticketing platform omg," another added.

Some also experienced being successful in making their purchases, but haven't received their QR codes, which serve as their digital tickets for the festival.

Hello same concerns as the others. Already paid & no QR code appeared since the site crashed after payment was made.

To address the issues, Waterbomb Manila 2025 posted an official statement.

"A system error is currently being experienced on the ticketing site due to a high influx of users," it stated.

"The error is currently being addressed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and kindly request for your patience and understanding."

A frustrated fan commented, "You had nearly a year to prepare. It should have been expected that there would be a high volume of users accessing the site, yet it still ended up crashing. Did you really plan for this?"

Waterbomb Manila 2025 is scheduled from February 22 to 23. The lineup consists of Jessi, Sunmi, Lee Chaeyeon, B.I, EXO's Chanyeol, STAYC, Kwon Eunbi, VIVIZ, and many more.
