Coupang Play’s upcoming drama “Newtopia” has released a new teaser poster and video ahead of its premiere!
“Newtopia” tells the story of Jae Yoon (Park Jung Min), who is serving in the military, and his girlfriend Young Joo (BLACKPINK’s Jisoo), as they race through a zombie-infested Seoul to find each other.
The newly released main poster captures the tense moment as Jae Yoon and Young Joo face off against a horde of zombies that have overtaken the city. The chaotic landscape of Seoul, thrown into disarray by the sudden appearance of zombies, immediately grabs attention. Amid the chaos, Jae Yoon’s terrified facial expression and Young Joo’s enigmatic look heighten the tension. The weapons they refuse to let go of, even in this life-or-death situation, also leave a strong impression. Jae Yoon tightly grips a lighter and spray can, while Young Joo wields a massive, blood-stained chainsaw.
The trailer released along with the poster further delves into the story, showcasing the efforts of Jae Yoon, Young Joo, and other characters as they take on the zombie crisis. Jae Yoon, a soldier with a long way to go before completing his service, and Young Joo, who is lonely after sending her boyfriend off to the military, suddenly find themselves in the midst of an uncontrollable zombie outbreak.
As the trailer’s tagline, “I’ll survive no matter what and come running to you,” suggests, Jae Yoon and Young Joo are determined to reunite despite the unprecedented chaos. They begin to fight back against the zombies in their own ways. Contrary to his anxious facial expression, Jae Yoon mows down hordes of zombies with a burning shopping cart, while Young Joo charges through the zombies on an electric scooter and swings her chainsaw with abandon.
Jae Yoon and Young Joo’s arduous journey to find each other is supported by reliable allies including Ra In Ho (Im Seong Jae), Aaron Park (Kim Jun Han), Jin Wook (Kang Young Seok), Alex (Lee Hak Joo), and a college applicant (Tang Jun Sang). Their bold and unrestrained actions amplify the exhilarating excitement of the story.
