He had a LOT of patience…

Today, Song Joong Ki is one of Korea’s top actors, and many of his K-Dramas, including Descendants of the Sun and Vincenzo, have become record-breaking hits. But back in 2007, he was a 22-year-old student who hadn’t made his acting debut yet.

While Song was studying at Sungkyunkwan University, he appeared on a controversial variety show that only aired for two months. Humiliating Flower Boys (also known as Shame! Along the Handsome Men) was a Korean variety show that aired on Mnet from December 26, 2007 to February 20, 2008. The show aimed to embarrass “flower boys” (handsome male guests) by placing them in uncomfortable situations through extreme pranks.
The female audience would vote before the hidden camera prank to rank the guests based on their visuals. Then, after the prank, they would vote again to choose which guest handled the prank best. The guest with the most points was crowned the winner.

Song appeared in Episode 3 for an elevator prank segment. He became trapped inside an elevator with a woman who harassed him, tried to feed him…
…then pretended to urinate in front of him. Song remained polite and composed throughout the prank, even when the actress dipped her hand into her “urine” (water from a water bottle) and repeatedly tried to touch him.

Towards the end of the prank, the staff pumped smoke into the elevator, and the woman pretended to pass out as Song became more worried.
In a partially obscured clip that the show added romantic music to, Song appears to give the woman mouth-to-mouth CPR, and lightly hits her chest until she coughs and wakes up.

When the elevator door finally opened, Song helped the woman onto a stretcher and carried her out of the building.
As soon as he stepped outside, he realized he had been pranked!
