A controversial X account shared the contents of the “scathing” review of BLACKPINK’s show.
[🚨] Blackpink is havily criticized in an article in "The Times" after its concert at Wembley Stadium.
— "The other three band members put on a desultory show for the first half, especially Jennie. It's not what you'd expect, considering K-pop's reputation for extreme rigour." pic.twitter.com/ztuqL5PLwo

Netizens seemed reluctant to believe the account, due to the past posts that are often seen as forcing “hate” towards idols. Yet, when looking at the article, the words were correct and the concert was given 3/5 stars with some harsh criticism.
It started by sharing that it took a while for the group to get going, highlighting that only Lisa “Looked as if she really wanted to be there to begin with.”
Yet despite the fans’ enthusiasm, it took a while for the group to get going, as out of Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa, only the Thai-born Lisa looked as if she really wanted to be there to begin with, winking at the cameras and executing each move with vim.
It then expressed some concerns about Lisa’s choice of songs, even wrongly stating that the idol collaborated with Doechii when it was Jennie, seemingly meaning to write Doja Cat. It also discussed the three, aside from Lisa, putting on a “desultory” show for the first half (lacking).
Lisa is the most famous, having impressed with her acting in season three of White Lotus and collaborated with A-list artists such as Doechii, Raye and Rosalía on the majestic New Woman. But she chose not to perform the latter, opting for the tedious Thunder as the second choice for her solo section alongside the MIA-inspired hit Rockstar. The other three band members put on a desultory show for the first half, especially Jennie. It’s not what you’d expect, considering K-pop’s reputation for extreme rigour, but Jennie has spoken in the past about feeling the impact of the strain on her body. Anyway, she did rev up to deliver the show’s highlight with the pop rap number Like Jennie.
It then shared that while Rosé seemingly shone with her solo section, the writer was seemingly unwilling to elaborate on Jisoo, describing her as “forgettable.”
Rosé, who was raised in New Zealand, took on the spokesperson role, thanking the audience and sparking banter with her colleagues. Rosé’s vocals are the best; she channelled Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo in Toxic Till The End before changing course for her bop APT — a Bruno Mars collaboration. If I don’t elaborate much on Jisoo, it’s because she’s the most forgettable, though her track Earthquake was quite fun.
Yet, while some netizens believed it was fake, searches of The Times article and the phrases on Google showcase the snips that were deemed controversial but were in fact written about the BLACKPINK concert.
It was also initially posted on the BLACKPINK Reddit forum, which was later locked and deleted, but a fan had shared the text due to the paywall.
