Singer Jay Park’s removal from a brand event lineup just days after the controversial W Korea breast cancer awareness event has sparked heated debates online.

Park sparked a major controversy after he was seen performing a sexually explicit song, “Mommae,” at the event, which netizens found extremely insensitive given the occasion. He later issued an apology, which only fueled the backlash even more.

Just a few days after this debacle, reports revealed that Park was removed from the lineup of a luxury brand’s event in Seoul. He was scheduled to attend the event on October 23, KST, but was replaced by Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon just a day prior.

A source from the brand told the media that the lineup was changed to focus more on female celebrities because the event programs had been altered urgently to put more attention on the launch of perfumes and cosmetic products. Many people speculated that this removal was the result of Park’s controversy related to the W Korea event. However, the brand representative stated that their decision had nothing to do with the controversy.
However, given the level of sustained backlash celebrities are still receiving for their conduct at the event, it wouldn’t be surprising if the brand subtly had to take it into consideration as well. You can read more about the public criticism of the attendees here:
