The drunk driving case of BTS member Suga has been forwarded to the prosecution, according to police. Perhaps more relevantly, they confirmed his BAC and say he admitted to the charges in questioning, which should move the process along.

The Yongsan Police Station referred Suga to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office without physical detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act at 2 p.m., officials said.

Suga’s blood alcohol concentration at the time was measured at 0.227 percent, far exceeding the level warranting license cancellation, which is 0.08 percent or higher, according to police.
The rapper attended a police questioning last Friday, where he admitted to the charges.

Given that he had previously apologized, I don’t think that result was ever in question, so I’m guessing there will be just one last update on this (hopefully).

Two things of note were that it only appears to be the drunk driving charge and nothing more, despite some unsubstantiated rumors that circulated, and that his BAC was confirmed, despite some comments questioning that for some reason even though it always cited police info.

Speaking of apology, Suga posted a handwritten apology about five days ago.

“It is with feelings of shame that I apologize once again to you all.
I apologize very deeply for having disappointed and hurt my fans and everyone who loves me through my wrongdoings.
I forgot my responsibility to repay the love I’ve received up until now by behaving in a manner fitting of that love, and I made a grave mistake.
On the night of August 6, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking.
I also apologize for causing a great deal of confusion through my first apology that I hastily posted on August 7.
I should have thought more deeply and carefully, but I failed to do so.
Everything is my fault. Due to my carelessness, everyone who cares about me is going through a difficult time.
I will live my life reflecting and making efforts not to commit such wrongdoings again.
Through this incident, I have left a large blemish on the precious memories that I made together with my [fellow BTS] members and our fans, and I have tarnished BTS’s name.
I feel so painfully sorry for having caused damage to the other members and our group that it is difficult to express.
I’m sorry that the [BTS] members, who always believed in me, are suffering because of me.
And I’m all too aware of the disappointment that the fans who supported and cheered me on must have felt.
I feel nothing but apologetic to the fans who gave me more love than I deserved despite my shortcomings…
Because I know that no words can easily heal the hurt and disappointment that I have caused my fans, I am deeply regretting my actions and reflecting each and every day with a heavy heart.
Once again, I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart to the fans who were hurt because of me.
I will accept not only the disciplinary measures that will be decided [by the authorities] in the future, but also any criticism or rebuke.
Finally, I once again bow my head and sincerely apologize for causing a controversy and disappointing many people.”

The initial one had to be clarified, so doing another and making it handwritten to show sincerity is smart. Even if fans feel it’s unnecessary or whatever, the key in Korea is to err on the side of overapologizing, so this is the right move. Obviously Suga’s not leaving the group, and despite some angry netizen takes at the moment, if he keeps this posture, gets past the punishment phase, and has a quiet time the rest of service, I expect things to be fine for him.
