Using haters’ videos in your report to misrepresent her actions is unprofessional and contradicts Billboard’s journalistic standards and decades-long legacy.
Apologize to Jennie!

The criticism has also turned towards the interviewer, an influencer named Leah La Rosa, who many fans felt also disrespected Lisa in the video. Fans have directed demands for apologies to Rosa, who is taking heat on social media as well, resulting in her going private for a time on Instagram and allegedly deleting comments.

Your employee is scrambling deleting comments on her TikTok & has now made her IG private. She knows exactly what’s going on, yet she chooses silence over accountability. Shame on you for enabling this! @billboard

In her latest posts, Rosa directly tags Jennie, seeming to ask for help with the response to the video.
Rosa claims that after waking up to thousands of comments requesting apologies to Jennie, and explained her assignment from Billboard. She says that she did not know of BLACKPINK or Jennie before, and that she was unfamiliar with any lore surrounding the group, while expressing that the opinions in the video were not her own.
@iamleahlarosa@JENNIE can you pick me up? I’m scared. (For the trolls- I don’t work at Billboard. I was hired as talent for the day to interview people about viral social media music moments. I didn’t know who BLACKPINK was, but I was told Jennie had a viral moment on stage and people were talking about it on social. My job was to get fan reaction on the streets about the viral moment/ the discourse on social media. I didn’t edit the package or control what interviews/clips/soundbites were used. I had no idea the video was even posted until I woke up to hateful messages. The edit does not represent my views or opinions- I’m not educated on the BLACKPINK lore or fanbase. I was just doing the job that was assigned to me for the day. Stop sending me and my family/friends d3ath threats-extremely weird behavior. This is SO unserious settle down. For Jennie- keep popping off queen! Sending love❤️)

Still, this video and her explanation did not sit well with anyone, as fans have criticized her for not “doing research.”
She has responded to complaints with an implication that she was set-up by BIllboard for failure, and that she wishes she had known has “psycho” the fandom was. Wish Someone Warned Me How Psycho The Fandom Is
