The legal battle between ADOR and NJZ (NewJeans) continues to escalate, with another court hearing regarding the agency’s injunction blocking the group from carrying out activities independently.

On April 9, KST, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Division 50, led by Chief Judge Kim Sang Hoon, held a private hearing. The session was focused on the objection filed by the NJZ members challenging ADOR’s injunction that prohibits them from pursuing entertainment or advertising contracts without the agency’s involvement. On March 21, this injunction was approved by the court in a ruling that preserved ADOR’s status as the group’s management agency.

The members filed a formal objection the same day this ruling was given, stating that it failed to take into account the complete breakdown of trust between the NJZ members and ADOR.
The April 9 hearing was held behind closed doors at the request of NJZ. According to reports, the interrogation in the court concluded within just 15 minutes. The members didn’t personally attend the hearing, and the legal representatives from both sides left the courtroom without making any statements.
The court is expected to announce its decision regarding the objection soon. The final ruling could be a significant new milestone, not only in the conflict between NJZ and ADOR but also in the larger artist-agency dynamic in the K-Pop industry.
