According to a TenAsia report on April 17, KST, the Seoul Gangnam Police has sent Lee to the prosecution on charges of illegal gambling. However, no charges of fraud have been brought against him since the victims of his alleged scam didn’t provide any statements. The police are probing the gambling site Lee allegedly used.

Previously, the comedian had admitted to being involved in illegal gambling activities in October last year through an Instagram post. He issued an official apology on his account, admitting his poor judgment.

According to reports, Lee borrowed more than ₩2 KRW (about $0.00 USD) from colleagues in the entertainment industry, broadcasting channel staff, and other acquaintances to fund his gambling habits. He is said to have borrowed 100 million KRW from BTS member Jimin and another 1.3 billion KRW from a loan company.

During the police investigation, Lee admitted to most of the charges regarding illegal gambling and even expressed his willingness to repay his debts. While the investigation is still ongoing, Lee’s career in the entertainment industry remains at a standstill. He pulled out of all the TV programs he was appearing on after the scandal broke, and is now awaiting his day in court.
