[Event Coverage] Irene & Seulgi Returns to KL and It Was a Monster Night to Remember 

For Malaysian ReVeluvs, the wait has been long, eight whole years, to be exact. The last time we saw Irene and Seulgi on our shores was in 2017 with all of Red Velvet (without Joy). So, when the iconic duo announced their [Balance] concert in Kuala Lumpur, you just knew it was going to be an event for the books. And oh, what a night it was!

From the moment the lights dimmed, the energy in the venue was electric. IRENE & SEULGI kicked things off with a triple threat of powerful performances, starting with “Tilt,” followed by the slick “Feels Good,” and the fun-bouncing “Trampoline.” The crowd absolutely erupted! It was clear from the get-go: the queens were here to slay.

A Trip Down Memory Lane & A Solo Showcase of Dreams 
During their first ment, the entire venue melted when they greeted the crowd with that all-too-familiar tagline, “Happiness, we’re Red Velvet!” Hearing that live after so long felt like a warm hug.

The night was perfectly balanced (pun intended!) with group performances and stunning solo stages. As SEULGI took the stage for her solo, the venue was bathed in a beautiful yellow ocean, thanks to a special fan project. When it was IRENE’s turn, the hall transformed into a sea of gorgeous pink lights. It was a beautiful sight that showed just how much ReVeluvs adore them both. And can we talk about “Be Natural”? The moment that iconic beat dropped, the cheers were deafening. It was pure magic!

Irene’s Sweet Malaysian Connection & Durian Adventures 
The ments were filled with heartwarming and hilarious moments. IRENE shared a touching story that made everyone go “awww.” She revealed that Malaysia holds a special place in her heart because her roommate during her trainee days, 19 years ago, was Malaysian! She even tried to reconnect with her for this trip, but her friend was unfortunately on vacation. How sweet is that?

On a lighter note, Irene also proved she’s a true Malaysian at heart by sharing her love for durian. She didn’t just know about it; she namedropped Musang King and Black Thorn like a pro! We love a queen with great taste.

A Red Velvet Party We All Needed 
IRENE and SEULGI knew exactly how much fans missed the whole group. To give everyone a taste of Red Velvet, they surprised the crowd with a medley of OT5 hits! The moment “Red Flavor”, “Zimzalabim”, and “Power Up” started playing, nobody wasn’t in their seats anymore. The entire hall turned into a massive dance party, with fans singing and fanchanting their hearts out.

Throughout the night, the duo’s fan service was top-tier. They constantly tried to communicate with ReVeluvs and even came down from the stage to get closer to the crowd, making sure everyone felt seen and appreciated.

As the night came to an end, they made a promise that every ReVeluv was hoping to hear: they promised to come back, and hopefully, with all of Red Velvet next time. After a night filled with incredible performances, sweet stories, and non-stop energy, one thing is certain,Irene & Seulgi’s return was more than worth the wait. Come back soon, girls! We’ll be waiting!
