Will former DIA member Somyi be able to get her career back on track in K-Pop and the Korean entertainment business—after all that she has been through? Her new management, Moden Berry Korea (MBK), seems to think so.

On April 26, 2025 (KST), MBK shared Somyi’s new profile pictures via the management’s official social media account, addressing her as a “new artist.”

MBK told TENASIA, “Somyi is an artist gaining attention for her steady growth and unique presence,” and added that she is “currently reviewing various content opportunities and activities.”

One of those activities, as revealed earlier in the same month, includes producing a new boy group (tentatively named the Earth Boys). MBK had announced, “Somyi will be taking part in all aspects of the debut project for a new boy group, including music/performance production, concept planning, and visual directing.” This group is to debut sometime in 2028.

In February 2024, Somyi was imprisoned after receiving a 1-year 6-month sentence for falsely accusing her former management’s CEO of sexual assault.

She appealed, and in June, her case came to a close after the court suspended her sentence from the first trial for 2 years with 160 hours of community service. Upon receiving the suspended sentence, Somyi was released.

Prior to imprisonment, Somyi made her debut on a streaming platform, doing racy “19+” mature content. Her final broadcast was on January 31, 2023.
