HYBE is being hit with major backlash after their recent activity regarding BTS‘s V.

Recently, netizens noticed that some extremely popular fancams of BTS’s V from fans were being deleted, and many have a huge number of views that even outweigh some released from music shows. While it started with the famous “Pied Piper” fan cam, a fan shared that more accounts were being targeted for their V fancams.

Netizens quickly voiced their anger. While it isn’t uncommon for companies to remove videos due to copyright, fans pointed out that it had only happened to V’s videos and that the other members of BTS’s fancams were still up.

Hybe claimed copyright for V's Pied piper fancam from "To MY DARLING V" & terminated "mumu_tae" channel for the same reason while other members' fancams from the same performance are still available

Fancams & Focus cams of Taehyung that had been uploaded years ago are recently removed by Hybe with copyright strikes. While similar videos of other members are not touched. A V focus channel has been terminated because of this

One fan even shared that it seemed like not only were videos being taken down, but some thought that views from his official music show fancams were also being deleted.

After the posts gained the attention of international fans, the topic made its way to theqoo, where netizens shared their own anger. Some pointed out how stupid it was, while others pointed to the company’s treatment of V from the moment he debuted and even how it could be linked to the fact he worked with former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin in the past.
