Recently, HYBE found itself in hot water with fans regarding its handling of BTS member V‘s individual fancams.

The backlash began after netizens took note that some extremely popular fancams of V, taken mostly by fans, were being removed from online platforms. A large number of these fancams had a huge number of views, outweighing the ones released by official music shows.

Taehyung's fancam for "Pied Piper" (over 17 million views) has been deleted due to copyright striked from HYBE 🤬@HYBEOFFICIALtwt @BIGHIT_MUSIC y'all nasty for doing this to your artist, fr. pic.twitter.com/nLJRF49Km7

These fancams were allegedly being scrubbed from the internet after being hit with copyright strikes from HYBE, which angered netizens. Given that these copyright strikes only happened to V’s videos and none of the other BTS members, it also led many to accuse the company of intentionally targeting V.

Hybe claimed copyright for V's Pied piper fancam from "To MY DARLING V" & terminated "mumu_tae" channel for the same reason while other members' fancams from the same performance are still available

Bring back V's fancams!

As the backlash grew, HYBE seemed to have responded by quietly lifting the copyright claim from certain fancams, much to the satisfaction of fans.

However, it appears that some of V’s more viewed videos are still being taken down, and fans are not backing down until they get those back as well.

Stay tuned for more updates!
