Kim Se Jeong is reportedly considering leaving Jellyfish Entertainment and has been meeting with other agencies as her exclusive contract approaches its renewal period.

According to Korean media reports on February 19, industry insiders say Kim Se Jeong has already held several meetings with multiple management companies to discuss her future activities.

She is said to be reviewing offers from agencies that handle both music and acting, as discussions focus on the scale of support for her projects, overseas promotions, and long-term activity plans. These talks are taking place as her current exclusive contract with Jellyfish nears its expiration date, according to soompi.

Jellyfish Entertainment responded to the reports by confirming that Kim Se Jeong's contract is nearing expiration but stated that "nothing has been decided yet" regarding her next move.

The agency said it is still in discussions with her about a possible renewal and asked the public to wait for an official announcement. No timetable has been given for when a final decision will be revealed, and her future agency status remains unconfirmed.

Kim Se Jeong first gained public attention in 2016 through the survival show Produce 101, where she placed second and debuted with the project group I.O.I. In the same year, she debuted again under Jellyfish as a member of girl group gugudan and released the solo digital single, Flower Way, which became a hit, Kpopping reported.

She later joined gugudan's subunit SEMINA in 2018 and continued activities until gugudan's disbandment at the end of 2020.

Beyond group promotions, Kim Se Jeong built a solo music career with mini albums Plant in 2020, and I'm in 2021, followed by her first full album Door in 2023 and the single album Solar System in 2025.

She also became a leading actress, starring in dramas such as School 2017, The Uncanny Counter, Business Proposal, and Brewing Love, gaining recognition and awards for her roles, as per KArchives.
