NCT‘s Jaehyun was originally slated to star in K-Drama I Trust You (working title) with rising star Lee Chae Min. The project was highly anticipated and would be Jaehyun’s last drama work before enlistment.

The drama began filming in April 2024 but has since been forced to halt production as announced on October 16, 2024. According to YTN News, the drama is facing investment difficulties. They had already finished the pre-production stages. It was said that filming took place first before they secured contracts with the investors. Ultimately, the investors changed their stance, and the production company did not have enough money to supplement filming costs, causing production to be halted. Although the production company has been trying its best to reopen filming, it is nearing five months since filming stopped. It is said to be likely that the staff and actors have not yet been paid.

The production company gave a brief statement to YTN, claiming that they are “working hard to solve the issues through new investors and will take responsibility for paying out the actors’ guarantees and the staff’s unpaid wages.

Even if the drama re-opens filming, it will be hard to navigate filming as Jaehyun will enlist on November 4, 2024. He is the main character of the show. Jaehyun plays the school violence victim Seo Il Nam. He comes from a poor background. Lee Chae Min plays Yang Seo Joon, the head bully who comes from a rich family. The two get entangled when Il Nam enters Seo Joon’s house.
