ALLDAY PROJECT‘s Annie has been the center of controversy since she was announced to be debuting.
Annie Moon | @allday_project/InstagramSince debuting, Annie has been hit with backlash and accused of nepotism due to her status as a chaebol.
Yet, past accusations towards RIIZE‘s Anton have resurfaced amid ongoing criticism towards the female idol.
RIIZE’s Anton | @RIIZE_Official/InstagramAnton’s father is the popular Korean singer Yoon Sang, and when the group first debuted, the male idol faced “nepotism” accusations, which made netizens laugh with his reaction to a comment about it.
A guy admitted using nepotism to debut and got away with it but a girl who fought her family to make ir is getting crucified, misogyny will never go away pic.twitter.com/YL32l4Q6Cp

Yet, while the post got over 4,700 likes, most netizens were defending Anton and hitting back at the use of “misogyny” in a way that doesn’t fit the narrative.
They explained that there is something very different about Anton’s “nepotism,” which comes from a father who worked his way to success in the music industry, compared to Annie’s chaebol status from her family, who controls a lot of wealth. They also added that Anton is extremely talented and has continued improving since his debut, linking to the criticism Annie has had for “lack of talent.”
mind you anton has a mildly successful father not a MULTI BILLIONAIRE LINEAGE. https://t.co/8RO7ijf3XI

saying he admitted using nepotism to debut is crazy. even his own father you all claim to know so much about addressed these rumors and said they didn’t want him to debut. anton is the one who came with the idea and he applied for the audition himself. pic.twitter.com/fz3UItvswQ https://t.co/i0QRM6HWN2

Ohh they’re using the gender card now to gain sympathy for a talentless chaebol LMAO. watch the performative activist kpop stans see the word ‘misogyny’ and flock to the post without even seeing if the argument is valid or not. https://t.co/vyxPNUeOsD pic.twitter.com/BrLfciM3DV
