Lot of big names in this one, and a lot coming in the next week as well, but not a lot of remarkable stuff, unfortunately.
======
ZEROBASEONE – “BLUE”
I’m probably the low man on this one, as while I do like the trend of boy groups going with brighter and energetic sounds, this mostly revolves around the chorus, which felt more yell-y than melodic and addictive. The chorus also just ends abruptly, and I feel like a post-chorus would’ve helped this song greatly.

G-DRAGON (BIGBANG) – “DRAMA”
The people insulting G-DRAGON‘s vocals on this kinda made me sad, cause it reminded me a bit of Zior Park, who I like for his off-kilter takes on pop. That said, Zior Park also does some zany stuff with production, so I do understand the critique of “DRAMA” because the song doesn’t really go anywhere and G-DRAGON is mostly underwhelming here.
Honestly thought it was Zior Park and had to check I had the right track, lol.

NouerA – “N.I.N”
Mainly posting cause it sounds like “naur” to me, and also for Nine Inch Nails.
——
LISA (BLACKPINK) – “FXCK UP THE WORLD”
It’s a fine performance-based hype song, one that she’s done before a bunch, but for all the bluster there’s nothing that comes through as remarkable about it.
——
YOUNG POSSE (Feat. 10CM) – “COLD”
Song is sort of a nothingburger, a generic hip-hop ballad with a melody that doesn’t do enough to make it notable. The music video absolutely enhances the experience, making the song feel fitting, though that speaks to the music video more than anything.
——
BTOB – “LOVE TODAY”
It’s ultimately rather forgettable. Performed well, sure, but that’s expected from them.
——
INFINITE – “Dangerous”
Nice, safe, funky pop song that lacks anything to make you want to return to it and ultimately ends up as a forgettable return for a group of their stature.
——
J-Hope (BTS) (Feat. Miguel) – “Sweet Dreams”
My favorite J-Hope turn was when he got gritty for “Arson“, and this is basically the opposite of that, being light and floaty. It’s sorta alright for an unwinding playlist, but if that’s what you want there are indie releases that do it better.
——
TREASURE – “YELLOW”
For most of this, it felt like a song meant to soundtrack a children’s show or something. Bright and friendly, I guess it would be a quality fansong for the encore of a concert, but I’m confused by TREASURE‘s direction, honestly.
======
Well … that was sorta an uninterested Rundown. I’ll try to get back to writing about the stuff I like instead, I promise.
