Seven Year Curse: Girl Group Announces Their Disbandment Ahead Of Anniversary

Girl group DreamNote will officially be disbanding.

In a notice posted to their X account, the group’s company announced that the members’ exclusive contracts would expire on November 7, 2025, ending the group’s activities. The notice expressed gratefulness towards fans for their support, and hinted at a final upcoming event.

After thorough discussions built on mutual trust and respect, DreamNote and iMe KOREA have decided to conclude their exclusive contract as of November 7, 2025. Since their debut, DreamNote has shared bright and positive energy through music and performances, and the love and support from Page have always been a great source of strength along the way. DreamNote debuted as an eight membered group in November 2018 with Dreamlike, meaning that November 7 would have marked their seventh anniversary. In K-Pop, there is a thing known as the seven-year curse where many groups have disbanded as they reached as seven years as it is a common length of contracts.

The group previously attracted attention for lasting longer than the average “nugu” group, remaining active and releasing at least one new song each year since their debut, until 2025. We wish them the best in their future endeavors!
