Suga shows up for questioning in DUI case following the media trolling themselves, more CCTV footage released

Fortunately there hasn’t been a lot significant that’s emerged of late in Suga’s drunk driving case, but there are a few updates, with one of them even being rather amusing.

Let’s start with that one, as hundreds of vultures circling prey reporters were left stranded yesterday when one of their own reported that Suga would attend his police questioning. Everybody in the photos below scrambled to show up and then … well, he didn’t come because nobody said he would be there, and HYBE later clarified that he wasn’t attending and never said he was.

Look man, I am absolutely not gonna do apologia for drunk driving or whatever, but some kind of police lineup like he’s Seungri or Yoochun or something is just ridiculous, man.

Anyway, Suga did eventually show up today and did have to face the media, where he gave a brief statement and went in for the questioning.

Upon arriving at the police station, Suga bowed his head and apologized to the press, “First of all, I am very sorry. I sincerely reflect on myself for causing great disappointment to many fans and many others. I will sincerely cooperate in the investigation. Once again, I am sorry.”

That’s basically all he can do at this point.

Also today was new CCTV footage from Yonhap News, which seems to show Suga departing instead of arriving. And it does show more of what people were likely worried about with regards to operating any motorized vehicle drunk.

Like outcomes matter, and that nobody was hurt and that he was only captured going slow is good and important. But you still want to hold people accountable for this, and fans should as well. I doubt this is the first time he was doing this, and in addition to potentially risking injury to property or others, I’d be way more concerned he’d have eventually hurt himself. One of those wobbles into a bigger vehicle next to a road wouldn’t be surprising with as drunk as he reportedly was, so it’s fortunate he ended up just having a little tip over at the end.

Also, I’m not sure why people in the last post were acting like Suga was vindicated or something. What happened was JTBC fucked up and he no longer appears to be in the worst-case scenario of lying about a lot of stuff and being one of those celebs that knocked out a power grid and/or did a hit-and-run on somebody. That’s good for him and everybody. As I said, the optics are certainly better for him now, and that should help him recover from this, but people acting like it’s all good now or something and gloating over it are being just as weird as those trying to pillory him. You don’t have to swing to the extremes on every update, I promise.
