Former TEEN TOP leader Bang Min Soo (also known as C.A.P) has been announced as the chairman of the Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee, a group aiming to protect the rights of idols and entertainers in the Korean entertainment industry.

His agency confirmed on that he’s currently leading the committee. The union aims to address issues such as legal support for malicious comments, mental-health management manuals, and standardized safety and welfare procedures for idols.

However, the announcement has sparked heated criticism online due to his controversial past. He previously caused backlash after a livestream where he used profanity and was seen smoking, which led to his withdrawal from TEEN TOP. He was also accused of mocking NJZ’s (formerly NewJeans) Hanni, when she claimed to have faced mistreatment.
