TXT's Hueningkai is the latest celebrity to contribute to the families of the Jeju Air crash victims.
"Hueningkai donated 50 million KRW (around $34,012) on January 1 to support victims affected by the Jeju Air plane accident," announced the Korean Red Cross on January 3.
The organization noted that the generous donation will be used to support the families affected by the incident as well as assist in ongoing disaster recovery efforts.
"I felt immense sorrow upon hearing the sudden news of the accident. I wanted to offer even the smallest form of help to the bereaved families," said Hueningkai in a statement.
The Korean Red Cross has been on the ground since the tragedy occurred on December 29, with volunteers and staff sending psychological support counselors to victims.
The plane, a Boeing 737-800, had departed from Thailand and attempted to land at Muan International Airport in southern South Korea.
After an initial failed landing attempt, the plane received a bird strike warning, with the pilot issuing a distress signal before the plane came down with its front landing gear closed, overshooting the runway, and bursting into flames as it slammed into a concrete fence.
South Korea has announced a national period of mourning to honor the victims, which commenced on December 29 and ends on January 4.
Hueningkai joins a long list of celebrities who have contributed to the families of the victims, including BTS' J-Hope, Lovelyz's Jin, actor Im Si Wan, and comedian Din Din.
